What does a Medical Laboratory Assistant do?
Through the Clinical Medical Laboratory Assistant career training, you will learn the skills needed to collect and test specimens. Certification Information
Upon completing your training, you’ll be qualified to earn the Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (CMLA) credential which is offered through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) organization and the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Certified Phlebotomy Technician
This certification proves that you understand the proper procedures relating to Phlebotomy. Students wishing to complete the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam will be required to complete 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks on a live person. Students should already be working in the field to complete this requirement.
